These yachts are a very spacious design inside and out, with the wider than average stern she offers big cockpit space and with the hinged seat at the helm in the cockpit you even have nice ease of access to the swim platform. Internally she has a lovely sized aft cabin, well appointed L shape galley, heads with shower is a good space and your forward cabin not too small either.
This is the shoal draft version allowing you to cruise shallower depths. She has uncluttered decks and it has been remarked ease of sailing single handed or with family.
She has an electric windlass and a full compliment of cockpit cushions. I especially liked the design of the companionway where the washboard folds up to be stowed in with the sliding hatch.

The stepped design of the bottom provides an air cushion when accelerating and entering planing, which successfully resists the oncoming flow of water add the Deep V underwater hull for maximum stability.
The Antares 9 offers so much space for her length and really does feel like the next step up from a 695 or so. A vast majority of boats of similar length cannot boast of two spacious cabins, a toilet room with a shower, then a great sized saloon, galley and cockpit and then to top it off easy to walk along side decks, easy access stern, side door at the helm position and full compliment of sunbathing cushions on the foredeck or cockpit. From the helm position to the navigator seat the comfort and amazing view out of the 360 glazed windows and sliding door is lovely.
A sliding door is usually found on much bigger vessels, on this Beneteau 9 it takes you to a large cockpit with sliding aft bench seat offering even more space as it helps to combine the interior and cockpit spaces making the ship feel even more spacious.
This particular boat comes to the market in nearly new condition, even some of the cushions are still wrapped in the original protective plastic. She has been regularly serviced and comes with bow thruster, electric windlass, cabin heating, 2 x 200hp engines and foredeck sun cushions plus a full cockpit cover. The layout is spacious and ideal for a cruising family or two couples. These boats are well found for liveaboards too. The wide side decks with high bulwarks and bronze life rails protect kids and pets underway or at anchor. Large windows in the salon provide a bright outlook and great ventilation. A large Dickinson diesel cabin heater will warm the interior and an engine driven Red Dot heater provides heat when operating the engine underway.
The single Lehman 120 diesel engine shows low hours of use. These popular engines were used in many different boats and parts are still available today. The engine compartment is spacious as compared to the twin diesel models, and you will save a lot on fuel and maintenance costs when cruising with one reliable engine. A dual Racor fuel filter manifold with pressure gauge is installed for easy filter switching underway in the event of fuel contamination.
The boat has been rewired with a Blue Seas panel and includes a galvanic isolator for the shore power connection to protect the hull from stray current. Navigation electronics are basic and could be easily upgraded.
A 2024 survey noted the boat to be in Good condition, "generally well found" and with a fair market value above the asking price. The surveyor thoroughly examined the boat's wooden structure and found it sound with few exceptions noted. Fasteners were pulled for inspection and all were found in good condition. The survey noted that one of the fuel tanks has some weeping at a bottom seam. Currently it appears to be a very slight leak and a bilge pad is enough to absorb that amount. There are several Seattle-area fuel tank repair companies that can assess the situation. Epoxy coating or outright replacement are possible solutions.
This is an affordable and comfortable Grand Banks pedigree cruising trawler that will make a fine vessel for a new owner to enjoy and improve while living aboard and exploring Pacific Northwest waters.

Owner said the twin rudders makes the helm feel light and responsive with the addition of the bow thruster for ease of mooring/berthing.
From uncluttered decks and cockpit, this boats to the layout down below, she is the gift that keeps on giving.
Four layout versions were available from new, in a combination of one or two double aft cabins, and an L-shaped galley (to port) or linear galley down (to starboard). This being the 1 x large aft cabin, 1 x double forward cabin the 'L' shaped galley.
The forward cabin has large windows and is accessed via double doors which adds to the feeling of spaciousness that is carried throughout the boat all the way to the huge aft cabin she even has a separate shower room from the heads.
