We invite applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Public History with a focus on documentary film (regional and period specialization open). The successful candidate will be expected to teach upper-division undergraduate and graduate courses in documentary film making and/or the history of documentary film, direct theses and serve on graduate committees, and teach history survey courses in their area of expertise (US or Western/World Civilizations). A PhD in History or related field (such as Public History, Cultural Studies, American Studies, Cinema or Film Studies, Media Studies, Anthropology, or Art History) is required by the time of appointment. (The candidate must be able to teach courses on documentary film and a history survey course in their area of expertise. Candidates must also demonstrate an active research agenda).
