This Assignment Editor helps facilitate editorial coverage decisions for all shows working directly with the Senior Vice President of Newsgathering, National Editor, Bureau Chiefs and senior producers to ensure all are aware of national news across the country. This person is the lead editor for Weekend News as well as confirming details of those stories of interest, gathering news elements and deploying coverage teams as needed. Must possess an excellent eye for gathering and clearing newsworthy and/or shocking video on social media such as Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and other social media outlets.
