Award-winning indie studio is preparing next few projects and seeks: EDITOR with GREAT Technical Skills who is ok with being a brief Editing 'Coach' to provide a few initial skills to the director in order to organize footage. These projects are very high quality social justice & environmental themed scripts / material for indie films and music vids (not horror films). Will consider New Graduates, Students, or Experienced. Festival projects ; very high quality scripts and productions. Stories deal with social justice themes, including feminist, womens' rights themes as well as LGBTQ themes. Parts of these projects will require a very tech skilled Editor outright, and other parts will require the ability to teach our director some simple editing skills in the latest final cut, utilizing footage from a feature film previously edited in the old FCS. The director will be a co-editor for the projects and director will initially do the early ' grunt work ' for each editing project ie. they will sort footage, organize and begin the edit strategy for each project before an editor is brought in to co-edit with the director. Please express in your cover letter if ... and then, how you are willing to be an initial 'coach' ( for pay ) to get the director 'up to speed' in order to create a better work flow for this studio. Modest Budgets, this is an upstart studio, crew members are on board due to the quality of the work, the growth potential and their dedication to working on quality material and social justice themes, however crews are paid on time and no games, everything up front and integrity is top priority at this studio. Please note, the Director is very selective with lighting and is very 'hands on' knows exactly what is needed for the projects, so they are looking for a VERY TECHNICALLY BRILLIANT Cinematographer, who can deliver the Directors' very specific vision, but also someone who has great communication skills / on-set demeanor. A very brief cinematography and lighting 'sample test' will be arranged with the very few applicants who makes it to the second interview. Applicants will get gas reimbursement, parking, and a catered lunch. If you are invited to do the cinematography test, it will be considered a 'callback' and it's very likely only two/three persons out of all the applicants will be invited.
