AIR NAVAL Unmanned Warships Philippines New naval vessel and drone systems delivered amid continued South China Sea tensions Defensemirror.com bureau 02:04 PM, April 8, 2025 2112 Miguel Malvar-class corvette The Philippines on Tuesday received its first South Korea-built Miguel Malvar-class corvette and 20 surveillance drones from Australia, in separate handover ceremonies aimed at strengthening the countrys maritime defense and patrol capabilities.The future BRP Miguel Malvar (FFG-06) was formally welcomed at the Naval Operating Base in Subic, Zambales. The 3,200-ton corvette is the first of two ships ordered from Hyundai Heavy Industries in 2021. Its sister ship, the BRP Diego Silang, was launched in South Korea last month and is expected to arrive in the Philippines later this year.The arrival of the vessel follows a series of maritime incidents involving Chinese vessels in the South China Sea, particularly in the West Philippine Sea. This study aimed to understand the motivations of cancer patients in China for adopting TCM in their treatment and to examine their communication with oncologists. Gaining insights into these factors can enhance culturally sensitive, patient-centered oncology care.MethodsA consecutive sample of 287 outpatients with cancer was recruited. Sociodemographic and clinical data, TCM usage, primary reasons for adopting TCM, and communication about TCM with oncologists were collected.
