We are looking for a Senior Editor, Network Visuals. This role would work with Member Stations on story ideas, content and sharing methodology. The person would extend the shared services model established through the Collaborative Journalism Network, so that a journalist with specific expertise provides editing, field support, production, training and added capacity to stations. This could include partnering with other organizations involved in these efforts as well. They will develop, conceive and execute original visual content from pitch through publication with a sophisticated understanding of how to tailor visual narratives and storytelling for young and diverse audiences. This position will also develop a newsletter featuring visual work in public media. This position may require working nights, weekends and holidays as needed. This is a limited term position ends on 9/30/26. Must have at least 7 years of photographic and/or video storytelling experience, preferably with a major network or newsroom, studio or creative agency. Mastery of Adobe Creative Cloud programs related to video and photo design (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Premiere) required. Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university with a specialization in film, video, media production, photography or journalism preferred. We are looking for an individual with a proactive attitude who is focused, flexible, and proficient in several aspects of broadcast operations, and who can work collaboratively in a live control room and studio environment. This individual will be expected to provide coverage in prompter and sliding commercial break operator capacities to work collaboratively in control room and live studio environments. They will be required to work with on-air talent, engineering, and editorial teams, as well as their global counterparts to ensure a quality visual production daily. A teleprompter operator uses software in the control room to scroll through scripted material. The candidate must be able to match the speed of the scrolling text to the speaking of the presenter and adjust to any improvisation of the scripts. The candidate must be able to read the text and understand the prompting cues within the scripts, as well as setup and operate the teleprompter as well as communicate issues to management and engineering teams. A sliding break operator's main responsibility is to keep the time for the show. The candidate is responsible for rolling the soft commercial breaks during LIVE broadcasts on multiple feeds. The candidate should be able to do basic time mathematics and calculate in and out block times. This position requires the individual be able to work flexible shifts including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holiday work may be required.
