His choice of steel came from a dedication to offshore and tough coastal cruising, where strength and safety matter most. Today, over 1,000 of his designs are either sailing the seas or in the works around the globe. Over a 35-year career, Denis gained widespread respect, winning the 1986 Steel Award for Best Consumer Product. Many of his creations have conquered impressive offshore journeys including this one, sailing from New Zealand to the UK Stepping aboard, the first feeling is pure excitement. She feels like a boat ready to take you anywhere, as far north or south as you wish, always keeping you safe. Everything is solid, over-engineered and her decks are easy to move around, even with all the extra equipment on board. The fully enclosed pilot house offers all-weather protection, great visibility, and easy access to safety equipment and navigation instruments. Below deck, theres a spacious accommodation area, currently featuring a large ensuite master cabin aft and three other cabins, which could be modified to add extra berths if needed. The forepeak is set up as a workshop but could easily be converted back into a cabin for additional sleeping space I don't use the word awesome lightly but this boat deserves it! The construction of carbon-infused ring frames in the most critical areas has been pioneered on the larger all carbon racing catamarans and is now successfully being applied in this Leopard cruising catamaran so that it can offer the best possible mix between comfort, space and performance. The exterior space is superb with private places for guests to feel they have their own space, whether that is in on flybridge seating watching the world go by or lying on the flybridge sun pad catching some rays. The cockpit is vast with full enclosure and large table to facilitate a dinner party with well located cockpit drink fridge, it also has the essential Caribbean aft sunshade when on anchor in the trade winds with stern lying west to afternoon sun to stop glare. The forward seating is just fantastic when on anchor with the breeze coming at you and shade from the coach roof make this a great place in the day time to relax and stay cool. The helm position has excellent 360 visibility with all the controls leading straight to the helm station which can also be fully enclosed. The interior is more like an apartment (the headlining shade pulls back so you can see the mainsail from inside), the saloon and galley areas would put many apartments to shame - so all this gives a no compromised lifestyle while living aboard. She has a large cockpit area as well as the flybridge for lounging about on sunny days but both have covers for adverse weather. There is a good amount of space around the cabin table with a double seat at the helmsman position which can be reversed. The table can drop down to make a double berth. The galley is located to starboard with a double berth cabin opposite. Forward is the luxurious owners cabin with plenty of space and another double berth. She is fitted with the reliable 200hp Volvo AD41P engines which have far less complicated electrics, which are fitted to modern engines. She is an easy boat to manoeuvre, aided by her bowthruster and is fun to be on the water. If you are in the market for a sports cruiser I would highly recommend you make an appointment to view.
