The 42i doesn't want for much as a performance cruiser, she's set up for short-handed so will be easy to sail well with her mirrored twin helms putting everything within reach. Moving around on deck feels safe and secure and the cockpit is well defined so that you can spread out or snug up depending on conditions. First impressions going below are of light and space. She presents well, clean and tidy and smells fresh and really does feel like she's a much bigger boat than she actually is. All the cabins have good double berths, the aft cabins particularly are really spacious and both heads have showers. The saloon is comfortable and easily converted between seating, dining and sleeping if required. Seaworthy, solidly built. and designed by Pelle Petterson, the famous Olympic and Admiral's Cup sailor. They were a development of the Maxi 999, which was produced between 1985 and 1992, when the 1000 started production. The model remained in production for 10 years with more than 1,000 built. The accommodation, for seven, has been well thought out, leaving you feeling you are on a much larger boat. She is easily handled by just two or even single-handed with the self-tacking jib. This boat is fully equipped and ready to go. She has been exceptionally well looked after, as evidenced by the photographs and videos. The current owners have spared no expense on her, and she is a real credit to their care. A year-by-year history, in the sixteen years of their ownership, demonstrates all maintenance, subtle improvements, and new fitments item by item. You are able to just step aboard and go. She has recently been relaunched after having her annual engine service, hull polished, and antifouled. There are 2 heads on board and a nice size galley and navigation station.
