The boat has just had a good hull survey and the boat was 2pac blacked at the same time (Aug 25'). There is a bow thruster tube fitted but no thruster. The marina mooring on the Lancaster Canal could be available by separate negotiation with the marina I believe. As you enter through the aft companionway you have the electric panel and heating controls on the port side cupboard which also houses the battery charger. Under the stairs there is the mains electric panel, galvanic isolator and the inverter and room for some storage. You are now in the new galley with plenty of storage space, a 5 burner gas hob with stainless steel back splash, oven and separate grill, fridge with small integrated freezer, a half size dishwasher and a stainless steel sink drainer. There is a small folding saloon table and chairs. The interior is nice and bright and the saloon area has an appealing decor with the wallpaper on the wall around the fire. There is a TV fitted on the wall, an attractive double sofa bed and there is a radiator and duck hatch also. As you move down the corridor you arrive in the good size shower room with a full size shower, Vetus vac flush cassette toilet, stainless towel rail and a large vanity unit with integrated wash basin. Finally you enter the large forward bedroom with a free standing double bed, what looks like a freestanding triple wardrobe but houses a double wardrobe and a full length section of shelving. There is also a radiator, two matching bedside cabinets and a separate set of six drawers. Access out the front into the forward deck through the doors. The boat has very low engine hours but the boat would benefit from a good polish to bring back the colour. These boat details are subject to contract. It has the extended swim platform and electric davit crane to haul in crab pots or shrimp pots. As you approach the vessel it's easy to see why this model is so popular. The high railings and deep V-hull really give her a purposeful stance. On the bow rests a 12 lb Lewmar anchor. There is 30' of chain with another 120' of rode. For anchor retrieval, there is a T-H marine Anchor Master retriever. The dark red gelcoat shows a little oxidation in spots but overall she's very clean. All the decks are integrated non-skid, showing no apparent signs of chipping or heavy wear. The stainless steel railing and stanchions are bright, not showing excessive oxidation. Deck fixtures and cleats are solidly bedded and show little wear. I really have to mention the visibility from every position on this boat. Ventilation is amazing. All windows and port lights are clean and intact with no visible signs of water ingress. The portholes are opening and all have bug screens on them. There are 3 top opening Lewmar hatches that function as they should. All navigation lights and interior lights appear to be functioning as they should. Every component and control panel is easily reached including on the pilot house roof. Accommodations are cleverly laid out and make use of the space provided. The R-21 EC cabins are comfortable and provide great protection from the elements. The head looks unused and does have a holding tank with pump out line. The compact galley offers a handy basin and an efficient single burner stovetop. This Ranger tug is a perfect size for a couple just getting into the trawler/tug lifestyle, retirees that love to fish and cruise the coastlines of puget sound. It is easy to manage and does not take up space in the marina; making it a feasible option for storage. A great benefit of this model is versatility. At 21 feet and just 3100 lb dry weight, this vessel can be easily towed and launched. This particular R-21 does comes with a heavy duty aluminum EZ loader trailer. Designed in 1970 as Griffiths own retirement yacht, the Kylix combines classic charm with practical handling. At age 70, Griffiths wanted a boat that an elderly single-hander could manage with ease, while drawing just 0.91 m with her lifting keel perfect for exploring shallow waters such as his home river, the Deben in Suffolk. Developed from Griffiths earlier 25-ft Cockler class and inspired by traditional cockle bawleys, the Kylix features round bilges, a fine run aft, raised topsides, and a transom stern. A signature detail is the loco cab, an open doghouse styled after a steam-train cabin a nod to Griffiths lifelong love of railways. Below decks, the interior is surprisingly spacious for her size, the saloon seats five comfortably, Settee berths convert into a double, storage is generous, and the overall layout has the feel of a proper little home afloat. This example is beautifully maintained and presented in lovely condition. With her handsome Tan sails, classic lines, and GRP construction, she offers the joy of a genuine classic yacht without the heavy maintenance burden of wood.
